I remember growing up and being intrigued by tales of the greek gods and the powers they had — for me they were the ultimate superheroes. When I first got to play God of War I thought it was the perfect match up of amazing action and story telling on a subject matter that hadn’t been tackled in modern video games before. The game is one epic set piece after another, and playing it, I truly felt like an all powerful god.
TO CELEBRATE 10 YEARS OF GOD OF WAR, WE PARTNERED WITH IAM8BIT AND WORLD RENOWNED ARTISTS JIM RUGG, DOALY, AND NIMIT MALAVIA TO CREATE GOD OF WAR INSPIRED MASSIVE 24″ X 36″ MOVIE POSTERSCOLLECT “COLLOSAL”
I wanted my piece to show off the epic scale of the game, and pay homage to ancient greek pottery — which was the medium via which fables were traditionally told. My piece tells the story of Kratos’ battle against the Colossus, because for me this was the most amazing way to start a video game — to be pitted against this relentless giant foe. The scale of this battle was what I really wanted to capture.
